God is Always My Sources!!! Deuteronomy 8:17-18

You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. He gives you the blessings, the empowerments, the enablement, the equipment, the knowledge, the Strategies, the strengths, the innovative ideas and all the sources you will ever need to produce wealth, so He is your source end of the story.

Remark:

Moses warns the people to remember the Lord their God once they have been established in the Promised Land. He reminds them to praise the Lord for the good land he has given. He tells them to continue to observe His commands.

Otherwise, when they prosper, when they live in fine houses and their silver and gold increases, then their hearts will become proud and they will forget the Lord, who brought them out of the land of slavery. God knew something of that nature will be present in them and He warned them beforehand..

History, and the rest of the Old Testament, tells us they did just that. The people of Israel enjoyed the blessings God provided in the land, but compromised on following the Lord. Eventually, not only had they forgotten that He brought them out of slavery, they abandoned His ways altogether and found themselves back in slavery.

Request:
It is so easy to slip into taking credit for what the Lord has provided, whether skills and abilities, or fine houses and silver and gold... and thinking that they are actually ours!

We should know that everything we have comes from God, and is in our hands only as a steward for Him, not as an owner and God will put more in our hands. We should be thankful for it all, and give Him all the credit, using it with a spirit of generosity for the advancement of the Kingdom and to be a blessing to others, not for our own benefit or consumption.

Prayer:
Thank YOU, Lord. Help me to remember that YOU are my source, and to be faithful with what you have blessed me. Give me a generous spirit, as YOU have been so generous to me.
